Caring Place Training
Dr. Honora Norton, Parish Manager of our parish, joined other faith communities, like Scottsdale’s St. Patrick Catholic Community, by attending a mandatory training session of congregational liaisons with Duet Partner in Health & Aging. Our parish has signed a covenant with Duet to work in partnership to promote health and well-being through a broad range of health and aging services to homebound adults, caregivers, faith communities and grandparents raising grandchildren. The Caring Place Ministry partners with Duet to manage volunteer services for transportation, shopping, friendly phoning, friendly visiting, paperwork assistance, handyman services, respite assistance and computer assistance.
Please consider join other parishioners to become a trained and insured Caring Place Ministry (via Duet) volunteer. Check out www.duetaz.org to view dates and locations of upcoming Duet volunteer orientation classes and other Duet sponsored seminars and fundraisers. A volunteer orientation class is scheduled at Palo Cristi Presbyterian Church, 2524 E. Lincoln Dr, Paradise Valley, 85253. Call 602-274-5022 to pre-register. Founded in February 2004, The Caring Place is a partnership of faith communities offering social, educational and spiritual support in a caring and healing environment to all seniors, adults with special needs and their families. The next Caring Place educational program is scheduled for Thursday, October 27, for Area & Aging to discuss Enrollment & Medicare D, at St. Joan of Arc Parish (9:00AM – 11:00AM) – watch for further updates on the parish’s website and bulletins.

Prayer for Seniors
Bless, O God, our senior citizens. Let them know how deeply we value the contributions they have made. Bless those who have lived long, sacrificed much and worked hard so that younger generations may enjoy a quality of life that our seniors may not have had. Work among them Lord, inspiring them to leave a legacy of faith and prayer for all generations that remain after them. And may they remain faithful to You throughout their lives. Amen.
